Team Valeriano is hosting its first Art Auction that is meant to raise awareness and knowledge to our community about HIV/AIDS. It is easy to think that this disease is no longer a problem, but with the money raised from this benefit, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center will continue to provide the critical services and education needed to meet the growing needs of our communities. Join us as we come together as a community to enjoy art, food, music, and wine at the Artillery Apparel Gallery in San Francisco. HIV/AIDS has dealt the world a devastating blow, but together with your help we can deliver back one of our own.

Per[Mission] to Speak: Poetry Slam

Artillery Apparel Gallery and the All Mighty Family are hosting a series of monthly events in which members of certain communities can come to showcase their talents and work. These communities include, but are not limited to: poets, artists, musicians, writers, dancers, and enthusiasts of such.

Per[Mission] to Speak is the first of these events. This poetry slam/open mic will display the craft of four young poets in competition.

Thursday, April 29, 2010
7 - 8 pm : Mixer, 8 - 10 pm : Poetry Slam, 10 - 11 pm : Open Mic
ALL AGES. DONATIONS: $3 AT THE DOOR
CUPCAKES BEING SOLD BY: THAT TAKES THE CAKE

The winner of the slam will receive a custom painted shirt by Ivan Lopez (Artillery: owner), a gift card to the store, and possibly the most important prize of all: bragging rights and the opportunity to defend the title at the next slam. It is our hope that the talents of these poets are made known to those who would not have known otherwise.

Artillery AG's mission is to build a space in which strong, organic relationships between artists and designers will flourish while showcasing fresh art and design (apparel, products, shoes and art). Artillery intends to create a bridge for individuals outside the art and design world, who might otherwise be reluctant to interact with people in that field.

The All Mighty Family is a collective of creatives that was conceived through the love of Art in all its forms. Consisting of DJ's, emcees, artists, musicians, and designers, AMF continues to build intra- and inter- communal relationships through nightlife events, fundraisers, community outreach, and the support of local talent.
